Your logo is the first impression potential customers have of your business. It needs to be professional and easy to read. A well designed brand not only builds confidence for new clients, but it also increases recognition of your product or services. Building brand recognition is easy when it starts with a strong logo and a social media strategy.

Keys to a Winning Logo

There’s strength in Simplicity! Logos don’t need to tell the whole story of your business. Nike, Coke, apple, Delta all are very strong logos that are internationally recognized with huge consumer success and none of them show what they do in the design. All of these logos have something in common besides being billion dollar brands, they all are striking designs weather being produced in black and white or their most blinged out use.

How can a company noticed? If your business is real estate, don’t do what all the rest of your competition is doing. It will say Real Estate, so be more creative with what the imagery is. Don’t use the tired and over used roof or house silhouette. Try something with imagery that is specific to your company or region. When your brand is online and on social media you want two things, to stand out and to get noticed!

A great logo isn’t worth a lot if there’s no consistency in how it’s used. Having a brand guide is vital to working with outside vendors. A brand guide keeps anyone who deals with your logo informed on proper use which in turn helps control your companies identity. There’s nothing worse than having a logo you invested in being outlined and dropped shadowed in a local coupon clipper by a want to be designer who just found the glory of Microsoft Office.

Working with a professional is so important. It amazes me how many entrepreneurs let a friends niece design their logo rather than investing in a logo designer with experience. The thought process is baffling. Spend no money, or very little on a logo and then pay for big advertising with a subpar logo. All that gets you is not taken seriously and wasted budget.
