About the Artist

Heather Ozee is a Southern-born painter and graphic designer whose work blends a deep love for heritage with a bold visual voice. Born to two wood carvers, you could say creativity ran deeper than sweet tea on a summer day—it was in her blood. Rooted in the richness of Southern life and stirred by the elegance of Baroque art, her paintings often explore the nostalgia of past generations, filtered through the lens of vintage advertising and pop culture.

Heather draws inspiration from an eclectic mix of artists—Frida Kahlo’s raw emotion, Maxfield Parrish’s dreamlike palettes, Chagall’s whimsy, and the spirited flair of Toulouse-Lautrec. Each brushstroke tells a story that feels both familiar and fresh, reverent yet rebellious.

Her creative path took an early leap when, at just 13, she fibbed her age to sneak into oil painting and drawing classes at the local college—taught by Lydia Elis—setting the tone for a lifetime of fearless artistic pursuit. Later, she attended The School of Visual Arts in New York and Savannah, where the legendary Frank Young pushed her boundaries in typography, conceptual design, and creative thinking.

A woman of deep faith, Heather prays over every project—believing that creativity is not only a calling, but also a way to serve.

Since 1996, she’s built a thriving career in graphic design, with a client list that spans from NASA to the CIA to Delta Airlines. But the Georgia peach in her will always beam with pride about her 13 incredible years designing at The Coca-Cola Company. There, she honed her skills, built lifelong friendships, and soaked up the kind of brand magic only Coca-Cola can offer.

And behind all the big names and bold designs is a deeper influence—her grandmother, Sally (or Anna Ruth, as folks called her in Kentucky). Sally taught Heather the value of hard work, loving the Lord, treating everyone with kindness, and how to "decorate the mess out of any holiday that dares to show up." A true Tupperware trailblazer before “girl boss” was even a thing, Sally’s spirit of joy, leadership, and unapologetic sparkle lives on in Heather’s art and life.

I’m a Southern Artist Inspired by Yesterday & Today

Since childhood I've been passionate about all things creative and artistic. I'm the daughter of two southern woodworkers and a proud Georgia Peach. Art has been part of my life since I was a child. I love all mediums! Even in church, I’ve got my watercolor travel set in my purse to paint church notes with in my art journal. Recent art can be seen on instagram @heather.ozee.art Originals and prints are available. Contact me at heatherozeeart@yahoo.com
